Happiness, calm, curiosity. These are the kinds of feelings artist and designer Bliss Cavanagh of Happy Senses inspires through her unique sensory spaces and objects. With an artful mix of colours, comforting textures and ambient mood lighting – handcrafting each piece with her signature sensory – art approach – Bliss helps us to develop our senses in the most delightful way.
Available for creative commissions, prop design, installations for public and corporate events, Bliss also creates sensory rooms for schools, community groups, hospitals and workplaces.
FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
Bliss draws from her experience of living with Tourette syndrome to create large scale sensory art installations and spaces with therapeutic benefits. Her PhD research at the University of Newcastle combines her passion for the therapeutic potential of multisensory environments with the creative art making process.

HEALTH & ART SPOKESPERSON
Bliss is a passionate advocate for raising positive awareness for Tourette syndrome, mental health and sensory wellness. Bliss presented her PhD research at the International Art and Health Conference in 2017 at the Art Gallery of NSW. She has also been interviewed live on 1233 at the ABC radio, Sunshine Coast Radio and has been featured on PRIME7, WIN News Central West and 9NEWS Newcastle and been published in Spoonful issue one of the Arts Health Institutes’ official magazine and various other media outlets. Bliss has also exhibited her sensory installations at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, The University of Newcastle and Noosa Regional Gallery.
