Shannon Benton is an elder care and disability specialist, a creative thinker and a team builder. Shannon is passionate about the humanities, the arts, literature and spirituality. She is highly skilled at facilitating creative recreational activities for her clients, with a strong focus on meaningful inclusion and accessibility in the community. She is a skilled community builder with a particular talent for developing networks for clients. Shannon has the ability to see ‘the big picture’; can problem solve and forms achievable leisure/recreation/health objectives through excellent interpersonal skills, all infused with empathy and warmth.


Shannon has worked predominantly in the healthcare sector, but also in the entertainment/music industry and therefore is known for her involvement in and dedication to the intersection of those two fields. She has experience in:

My Friend’s Story puts the emphasis on an individual and their life story. It is reminiscence therapy via an online biography program. It is as much about the process of getting the story, as it is about the actual story. Shannon gathers the milestones, highlights, events and details from a client, with the purpose of sharing their life story with their family & friends. It can also give the staff of care homes/community organisations greater client profile insight. Understanding a person’s background is essential to help make sense of their current reality.
